Poha (in Hindi) is called Flattened rice or Crushed rice in English and Aval in Tamil. I’ve used poha together with different substances to make prompt tender idlies. These idlis needsno fermentation  or elaborate grinding. It may be made for breakfast or dinner in a jiffy. Discover ways to make tender poha/aval idlis.

The best way to make Poha Idli/Aval Idli

Yields – 12-13 Idlis

Prep time – 5 minutes (excluding soaking time)
Cook dinner time – 15-20 minutes

Elements wanted 

Idli rice rava – 1 cup

Skinny Poha/aval – 1 cup

Thick Buttermilk – 1 cup

Salt – 2 tsp

Eno or baking soda – 1/2 tsp

Preparations 

Powder the poha or overwhelmed rice and hold it prepared.

In a bowl, add the powdered poha, rice rava, buttermilk and salt. Combine it nicely including wanted water with out lumps.

Let it relaxation for 30 minutes – 1 hour.

After half-hour 

Poha would have absorbed all of the water. Add extra water to get idli batter consistency. The batter ought to neither be watery nor too thick.
